Maryland Gives now produces and manages the Baltimore GiveCamp organization. For nonprofit organizations that have participated at Baltimore GiveCamp, this change provides so much
more for your organization.
Maryland Gives will still continue to produce the annual GiveCamp event, but there are some changes that you should become aware of:
Membership
- Your organization needs to become an accepted member of Maryland Gives. This is free of charge. If you were an accepted nonprofit for Baltimore GiveCamp 2014 (which was cancelled), you are automatically accepted into Maryland Gives for the 2015 season.
- Acceptance is based on your organization - the size, budget and nonprofit status. We are here to serve organizations that are have (or are pending) 501(c)3 status. The organizations we serve do not typically have a budget for IT support or development.
- Membership is annual. You must elect to continue your support from Maryland Gives each year. If you no longer need support or have had your projects fulfilled, you should end your support need so that other nonprofit organizations can take advantage of the services.
- Space is limited. We only support a given number of nonprofit organizations into Maryland Gives each year. We do our best to allocate help resources and there are only so many to effectively help all the nonprofit groups.
Participation
- You are able to take advantage of any of the events or programs throughout your support year.
- Through your account, you can "ask for help" at any point. Our team will evaluate your needs and determine the best events and teams to help your needs.
- As with Baltimore GiveCamp, your participation is mandatory. If you have asked for help, people are engaging to help you, you must be a part of that. You are only required to participate in any event that your project is going to be worked on.
